Płociczno Forest Railway
Płociczno is a village about 10km south of Suwałki. Public transport access to the narrow gauge railway is relatively difficult. The Białystok to Suwałki railway line passes close to the village and there is a station nearby named Płociczno k.Suwałk, however there are just 3 trains a day in each direction (see timetable 530 Warszawa - Białystok - Suwałki/Grodno or the online journey planner) and the narrow gauge station is a 3km walk. Suwałki city bus route 4 serves the village and the narrow gauge railway station itself 7 times a day on weekdays. Timetables can be found on the PGK website. PKS runs 2 or 3 buses on school days between Suwałki and Augustów via Krusznik which pass through Płociczno and then run on the road which closely parallels the line. Weekend buses are limited to a twice-daily PKS service - city bus 4 does not run. Timetables can be found on the PKS Suwałki website. There are frequent PKS buses along the main road (via Nowinka on PKS timetables) between Suwałki and Augustów, however this leaves a walk of nearly 4km from the road junction to the narrow gauge station. Finally, a taxi from Suwałki can be used. The timetables below show a summary of the most useful public transport options for reaching Płociczno on weekdays and weekends respectively. Buses on the main road route are not shown.
