Hel Military Railway

2014 Timetables

The Hel military narrow gauge railway operates within the museum of coastal defence just north of the town of Hel. The railway has an operating length of approximately 1km and takes visitors from artillery emplacement B2 (Bruno) to artillery emplacement 3 (Caesar), and also, from May 2013, from artillery emplacement 3 to the ammunition storage magazines. Tickets cost 9zł. There is a small railway museum at the far end of the line.

In 2014, the railway operated on weekends and public holidays from 29 April, and daily from 27 June to 15 September, during the opening hours of the museum (April/May/June 10am - 6pm, July/August 10am - 7pm, September 10am - 5pm). In 2014, the railway also operated on 9 and 10 June (10am - 5pm), 19 - 22 June (10am - 6pm), and 23 - 26 June (2pm - 6pm). The Hel military railway took part in Museum Night on 17 May 2014.

Tickets cost 9zł. The new Hel Railway Museum opened in July 2013.

In 2013, the railway operated on weekends and public holidays in May and June, and daily from 15 June to 15 September, during the opening hours of the museum (May/June 10am - 6pm, July/August 10am - 7pm, September 10am - 5pm).

On Saturday 18 May 2013 the Hel military railway took part in Museum Night, starting at 18:00. The railway was used in a reenactment of the evacuation from the old town during the Warsaw Uprising. Visitors took part in the reenactment.
