2014 Timetables

In summer 2014, trains ran every Saturday and Sunday from 28 June to 31 August, and also on Friday 15 August. There were two return trains on each operating day, according to the timetable below. (Timetable poster).

On Saturday 14 June, the Bytom narrow gauge railway took part in Industriada. There were trains between Bytom Wąsk, Bytom Karb Wąsk, Kopalnia Zabytkowa and Tarnowskie Góry according to the timetable below. In addition, there were tours of the station, signal box and locomotive shed at Bytom Karb Wąsk at 10:15, 12:15, 13:15, 15:15, 15:45, 16:15 and 18:15. There was an opportunity to drive an Lxd2 diesel locomotive between 13:00-16:00 and 17:00-20:00, a staged train collision and rescue at 16:30, a concert from L'ombelico del Mundo, and a fire show at 21:45.

Following discovery of a track theft on 9 May, the damage was repaired and the complete route from Bytom to Miasteczko Śląskie reopened over the weekend of 7-8 June.

2013 Timetables

In summer 2013, trains ran every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday from 29 June to 31 August. This year, following completion of the viaduct works, trains once again ran from the bay platform at Bytom Główny to Miasteczko Śląskie Wąsk. See the full timetable below.

Trains ran from Bytom Karb to Tarnowskie Góry during the Industriada event on Saturday 8 June 2013, according to the timetable below. There were also tours of the station and locomotive shed from 14:00 to 19:00. See the event page for more details.

On 29 and 30 June 2013, trains started from Bytom Karb Wąsk due to a theft of fishplates between Bytom Główny Wąsk and Szombierki Elektrownia.

From 20 to 29 September the Bytom narrow gauge railway celebrated the 160th anniversary of the Upper Silesian narrow gauge railway. Steam locomotive Las49-3343 visited from the Rudy narrow gauge railway for the event. On Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 September steam-hauled trains ran from Bytom Karb Wąsk to Sucha Góra at 13:30 and 16:30. Diesel-hauled trains ran from Bytom Główny Wąsk to Bytom Karb Wąsk at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 15:00, 16:00 and 18:00, with the 13:00 and 16:00 continuing to Tarnowskie Góry Wąsk. See the full timetable for 21 and 22 September. On Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 September steam-hauled trains for enthusiasts ran the full length of the line to Miasteczko Śląskie Wąsk. Departure from Bytom Główny Wąsk was at 10:00, arrival into Miasteczko Śląskie Wąsk at 14:00, departure at 15:00, and arrival back to Bytom Główny Wąsk at 19:00. Tickets for the enthusiast events cost 70zł.

2012 Timetables

In 2012, trains ran every Saturday, Sunday and public holiday from 14 July to 2 September (see timetable below). Due to repair of the viaducts between Bytom and Bytom Karb, trains departed from Bytom Karb Wąsk.

2011 Timetables

Due to the construction of the A1 motorway, trains between Bytom and Miasteczko Śląskie were suspended for the 2011 season.

Tours of the power station EC Szombierki ran on the following Sundays in 2011: 27 February, 27 March, 17 April, 29 May, 26 June. Each tour involved a short train journey (see timetable below) from Bytom Głowny Wąsk station to EC Szombierki and a guided tour of the power station.

There was an open day at Bytom Karb Wąsk station, the operating base of the line, on Saturday 11 June 2011, including free trains from Bytom Głowny Wąsk to Bytom Karb (Photos of the event). This event was part of Industriada.

Free documentary films about Upper Silesia were screened in a narrow gauge coach at Bytom Karb on the following Sundays evenings in 2011: 30 October, 6 November, 13 November, 20 November, 27 November. The events, which were financially supported by Bytom council, included the short train journey from Bytom Głowny Wąsk to Bytom Karb and return, departing Bytom Głowny Wąsk at 16:30 and returning there at around 18:00.

2003 Timetables

In 2003, trains ran at weekends from 1 May to 15 June and daily from 19 June to 31 August. At weekends in July and August connecting bues ran from Siemianowice Śląskie.

2002 Timetables

In 2002, trains ran on Saturdays and Sundays from 29 June to 29 September. A special timetable ran on 1 December.

2001 Timetables

In 2001, trains ran at weekends from 5 May to 22 June, daily from 23 June to 31 August, and at weekends from 1 to 9 September.
